Fishing

We had not planned on going fishing this year. I figured we would just wait until we were residents and have fun with it next year. People have been awesome and throwing more fish at us than we know what to do with. THANK YOU! Anyway. I had planned on taking Avery up to Eagle Beach @ low tide today to look for some tide pools. It was a really crappy day, but whatever, carpe diem, right? So we loaded up. I decided the dogs would get to come along. Avery was excited and couldn't babbling on and on about the beach all morning. She actually sang about the beach while we were driving up there. It was about 20 minutes north of where we live and she literally sang "LALALA...BEACH...LALALA" the entire way.

So we get there and no one is there except a TON of gulls, ravens, geese and eagles. The dogs were in HEAVEN. I have yet to mention the loads of dead fish! Some were more than likely leftovers from meals and the others were unfortunate enough to get caught when the tide went out. Oh and my dogs LOVE stinky fish. When they were not chasing the birds they were rolling in the fish. Then, Wilson discovered there were fish alive in some of the tide pools. Sorry for all the yelling in the video, but he wouldn't leave them alone. So I end up catching my first fish of the year bare handed to help it get to a deeper spot in the pool. I had to do this 4 different times because he just couldn't help himself.

Avery did not have as much fun. She was all weird about walking on the sticky mud and made me carry her most of the time. She loved watching the birds and thought Wilson's fishing was hilarious. Luckily she fell asleep on the way home which gave me an opportunity to hose off the dogs outside while she slept in the car. Yes, I gave my dogs a bath outside in the rain. I felt a little bad for them because it was cold, but they needed it bad! They could use another bath because they still stink.

It was a stinky and wet adventure for Avery, the dogs and I. I think we will wait for the sun to come out for our next trek up there.

I taught my kid to fart on command...whoops

She is attempting to toot.

So I happen to laugh when she toots and she decided it was funny too. Sam wants me to stop laughing, but it is so hard not to. She farts on purpose and then laughs at herself. Seriously cute. I will try to get a better video with more toots, but this is all I have for the moment. She needs to let the gas build back up ;) Turn up your volume.

I was skimming through some old videos yesterday and came across this one that was taken exactly a year ago today. She is just too stinking cute.

Avery is fine. She is teething again and having a heck of time. She is basically a grump and runs around chewing on her blanket. She has started to say "night, night" and she also said "nana" for banana yesterday.

Sam is currently undergoing a baptism by fire. He was left to run the practice this week and has been working with small animals for only a brief month now. All seems to be going well. He has been very busy this week.

I joined a Mom's group in Eagle River and met up with them on Monday. There are quite a few kids Avery's age. The group meets up quite a bit and I think it will be good for both Avery and I. I am going to make myself go to at least 3 functions a month!

Avery's New Toy!

Sam and I decided a few things we had of Avery's were pretty useless and decided to go ahead and sell them to a local consignment shop. The mistake was that Sam let me take the stuff in myself. I sold the things and ended up spending money on more crap. But, Avery needed something new to occupy her time. I found this cute table in great condition and she LOVES it. She has finally figured out how to get down with out bashing her head :)

Avery Catches Mom!

I am simply amazed at how fast these creatures learn! One day she is barely crawling and the next she off to climb the stairs and is pulling up on anything she can get her hands on.

Dancin'

Avery has started this really cute wiggle when she is excited or sometimes when she hears music. Super cute and quite entertaining. I just can't get over this little one of ours.

It looks as if Avery has inherited my dancing skills!

Busy Day with Avery

Today was a fun packed day for Miss Avery. We went to the dog park, the playground, lunch @ Cafe Mexicali, shopping @ Jax and then to The Farm (a small farm with farm animals). The dog park was fun, Avery loves watching all the dogs and she was having a good time until a young cattle dog decided to jump on me and got its nails on little Avery's leg. That hurt real bad and she let everyone know. So I decided we would walk over to the playground and let Sam stay with the dogs for a little longer. This park is AWESOME! I am super bummed we are moving now, because this is the playgound above ALL playgrounds. We found a swing and had a blast. At first she was really nervous and I am pretty sure she was holding her breath, but after a few seconds she was kicking her legs, smiling and having a good time. The Farm was also a big hit. She loved petting the ponies, donkey and the goats, but her favorite was a big goose that walked right up to her (a fence separated them) and honked right in her face. I thought her eyes were going to pop out of her little head. She had a great time, but was a tuckered out little girl!

pLaY tImE!!!

Avery loves her jumperoo and is getting very skilled at bouncing around! She is still too little for it without the pillow underneath her feet, but I think in a few more weeks she will be big enough.
